How to Stand Out on Social Media (Competition-Proof Content Creation Secrets)

I create a heck of a lot of content even if you’re in a crowded industry or you feel like there are a lot of online entrepreneurs or people who are similar to you trust me there is a way where you can stand out online with your content and if you’re wondering what that is we’re going to get into it right now [Music] hey hey Courtney Sanders here welcome back to my channel if you’re new to me I’m a full-time online life and business coach as well as wife and mom where all the hats and do all the things and I create a heck of a lot of content and because I create a lot of content it really grows my brand it helps me attract clients and it does amazing things which is why I’m always beating the drum saying that you want to create consistent content but I know a lot of people struggle with creating consistent content because they’re not sure how to do it in a way that will allow them to stand out online particularly they don’t know my secrets for creating competition proof content.

So even if you’re in a crowded industry or you feel like there are a lot of online entrepreneurs or people who are similar to you who do something similar to what you do trust me there is a way where you can stand out online with your content and if you’re wondering what that is we’re going to get into it right now all right so this process that I’m getting ready to walk you through is the process that I literally go through when I’m thinking of content and I’m trying to come up with content ideas that don’t just help me attract clients even though that’s important or aren’t just going to help me fill up you know my page so I can say hey I’m consistent in but the method in which I create this content in particular really helps me stand out and so there’s a few prompts that.

I use to think about what type of content I want to create and I find that as long as I go down you know these rabbit trails that I’m getting ready to give you and I start with these prompts my content often comes out in a way that is really unique to me and really makes me stand out online alright so the first content prompt or question that you want to ask yourself if you want to create content that’s going to help you stand out is simply what is it that I want to talk about I know that sounds crazy right there’s so many rules in social media right where we’re like well should I talk about this and should I teach these tips and should I give these tricks and this YouTuber said I should make content like this but on Instagram they said I should talk about this this is going to sound crazy and.

I know you’re creating content you know for your audience and it needs to be things that they enjoy but when I sit down and I think about content I first start with what is it that I want to talk about right and that is really important because people can like if they’re watching videos can see your face light up in a way that it doesn’t light up if you’re talking about topics that you’re kind of bored with and you don’t really want to talk about but you’re just talking about them because you think you have to do it in order to create content so I have a high level of self-awareness I’d like to think and I always want to check in with myself and say what do I want to talk about what am I really excited about like where am I personally how can I talk about that thing and connect it maybe to obviously something that my audience is interested in right but what is it that.

I want to talk about so I really challenge you to start with that prompt as it relates to the ultimate goal that you have for your audience or what is it that you’re trying to do in the world sit with yourself and say what is it that I want to talk about and you’ll find that as you talk about those things your face will light up your tone of voice will change just the passion and intention in that piece of content will be so much different that people can feel it and it will really help you stand out online alright the next content prompt that I consider or question that I ask myself is what is it that they want to hear right so I’ll start with what I want to talk about right but then I say okay what is it that they want to hear and then I think about what are the frequently asked questions that.

I am getting and you might say well you know there’s others in my industry and you know maybe they’re answering the same questions but you you want to go deeper with this and say why are they asking me this question like what is it about my life experience or the way I show up online that would make them want to ask me right so um for instance I know a lot of people who watch my YouTube channel but also who follow me on Instagram have a lot of questions around um time management or you know how I manage my time on my routines you know as an entrepreneur and that’s not necessarily like a unique topic there’s a lot of different online entrepreneurs and coaches who are talking about routines and routines as entrepreneurs and you know whatever how how to manage your time as a business owner but I say why are they asking me that right like what is it that they really want to know what is it that they really want to hear and.

I recognize that people are interested in that for me because I’m a woman entrepreneur they know that I have two small children at home I’m married um you know they see that I’m Main maintaining my household and I’m managing all these things and so I say oh okay yes they want to know my routines but they specifically want to know this from me because of the way that I do it how my lifestyle looks and what I embody and so I create content from that place and so I actually went through this process and I created a reel that did really well on my Instagram about five ways to Outsource at home as a busy entrepreneur and I thought it was like a very simple reel I didn’t expect it to kind of blow up the way that it did but it did really well simply by asking myself what.

Is it that they want to hear but going deeper and saying okay but why do they want to hear it from me all right this next prompt or question that you want to ask yourself is really good it pulls out a lot of passion and that is what is it that they need to hear right so there’s a difference between wants and needs right your audience might want to hear how do I you know grow my following to ten thousand in 30 days or how do I make a gazillion dollars and you know um 24 hours or whatever they might want to hear certain topics but you as the expert you as the leader you you know of your brand you as someone who has been there and is showing other people the way you know what it is that they really need to hear maybe they don’t want to hear it but they need to hear it and I do a lot of that content I do it on my podcast and I do it on this channel as well I have.

A lot of videos about you know the hard truth in fact I have a video um that you can check out here around why they didn’t buy the real reason um why they didn’t buy from you and I kind of give that hard truth and those video topics come from me sitting with myself and thinking like okay I know I know they want this and I know they weren’t to learn how to do X Y and Z but based on my experience and what I know that they’re struggling with that they might not see what is it that they need to hear and then I just sit down and I create content on that so sometimes you’re gonna stuff off some Toes or you know people might say ouch but you know they’ll thank you for it especially if it’s coming from Love and it’s coming from a place of you really wanting to help others all right I have more where that came from but first I want to hear from you do you want to stand out online on social media share your content tips in the comments below alright the next content prompts last question that I asked myself to really come up with you know standout content online that helps me be competition proof is I ask myself what is it that.

I want for my audience and I think this is so important that every entrepreneur asks themselves this question not just in terms of content creation but even when you’re coming up with your products and services it’s a really great censoring question to think about because it reminds you that we are in this ultimately for service and I get it sometimes you’re really focused on I need to grow my business I need to hit this financial Milestone maybe you’re trying to hit quit your job or you’re trying to hit your first six figures you’re trying to hit your first seven figures and you start creating content but also creating programs and orienting your business not necessarily to help the person not that you don’t want to help the person but like that becomes less of your focus and your focus more becomes hitting a particular number or a metric and so I really love this question of like what what is it that.

I want for them because it centers you back to if you had all the money in the world and you had all the success in the world and like nothing was missing from your life and you didn’t have to strive for anything but you purely were doing this because you you wanted something for your audience you wanted to help them you wanted them to achieve a particular result what is it that you would tell them I mean think about it I mean I’m getting like Goosebumps as I say that but like seriously I mean you can even answer in the comments below what you would tell them whatever it is that you would say that’s what you should say right you can say it in a variety of ways but say it on social media say it in an Instagram caption say it in a post say it in a podcast say it in a YouTube video and it might not be you know some perfectly like SEO keyword title for YouTube.

Or it might not be you know perfectly hashtagable on Instagram but again people can feel your intention and if you start from that place and you you you give content from the area of hey I want I want to help you like this is what I want to see in the world this is the impact that I want to make this is what I want for you my audience my Prospect my potential clients people will feel that they’ll receive it and again it’ll really help you stand out online all right the next prompt that I do often and this is one of my favorites is I I asked myself what is it that I am learning so I love this content prompt because oftentimes we feel a lot of pressure we put undue pressure on ourselves because we think we always have to be in expert mode all the time so sometimes we can get in a rut because we’re creating content on social media and we’re like what is it that.

I need to teach and what are the three steps whatever but you don’t always have to show up as the expert in the person that knows it all sometimes people just want to see your journey and they want to see your process so I really love sharing from a place of like this is what I’m learning right these are the mistakes that I’m making this is kind of like my thought process I’m not an expert on this I I give a disclaimer from talking about something that I’m kind of like you know being a guinea pig with versus being a guru but I find that people love content like that and so I’ve been doing that actually with my podcast my CEO series because I haven’t seen a lot of content around how to be a CEO there’s all this content around how to get clients how to be a coach how to grow your brand but if you’re trying to not just have a business.

But actually have a company like an organization with employees and you want to create something that stands apart from you I don’t find a lot of content like that especially in my space and the coaching online education training space and so I’m not an expert on it but I’m learning it as I go and so I’m creating a series of content around what I’m learning and people are tuning in and they’re finding it very beneficial because they get to see me in real time learn these things and come up with these insights so you don’t always have to know everything I mean obviously there are things that you are going to teach through your content but what are some things that you’re learning and what can you share with your audience that they’ll be really fortunate to learn and to watch you grow alright thanks so much for watching this video if you loved it you are also going to love my signature program the next big name boot camp it is 100 about how to be competition proof like literally that is all I teach not just how to get clients not just how to grow your brand but how to do so in a way that you were competition proof that you were future proof that you are.
