Create a Free RESOURCE LIBRARY on WordPress Website + Grow Your Email List Fast!

Hey guys! Thank you so much for joining me. My name is Jennifer Franklin, and I help entrepreneurs get their websites created and launched quickly without stressing out over design or tech. In today’s video, I’m going to show you how to easily get a free resource library set up on your WordPress website. Are you ready?

Let’s go! I have my motivational coach website pulled up. If you’re interested in purchasing this exact website, you can do so on my website, and I’ll leave a link in the comments below. I want to show you today how to create a free resource library to use to generate more opt-ins on your website in order to grow your list so that you can nurture your audience over time and provide real value in the form of videos, worksheets, checklists.

For this tutorial I’m going to be using a plugin called Beaver Builder which is a page builder.

If you aren’t sure what a page builder does it simply helps you build WordPress pages quickly and easily with a drag-and-drop functionality. You can see here I have Beaver Builder plugin, the standard version, installed. Now what we have to do is we’re going to go up to the top here where it says “NEW” and we’re going to create a new page.

This is going to be the page for our resource library. We can call it, actually we can just name it that, resource library.

We’ll give it a title; we’ll call it resource library. When we publish that page is a unique URL is created. When I show “view page” it should be /resource – library/. You’ll see how that works. This is our resource library page.

It looks really boring. The first thing we want to do is we’re going to want to make this password protected. I’m going to head back to edit page, and over on the right hand side you’ll see where it says “status and visibility,” it says visibility is set to public. We’re going to click on that button and we’re going to set to password protected. I’m going to make a secure password.

For now, I’m just going to say “SECRET.” That will be our password. You can think of something unique for your page and then it’ll still be there when you go back.

You don’t have to necessarily write it down. We’ll save that and then one thing I wanted to check really quick is our content layout.

I know the content for this website is set to content boxed, so I want to go to full width and stretched. Let’s head back out to our page and for this, I’m going to start editing. Click launch Beaver Builder. Now, you’ll notice that when we get back out to the front the content is password protected. To view it, please enter your password below.

We enter in our password. Click enter. You’ll notice that over in the right-hand side our Beaver Builder editor popped up and what we’re going to do is we’re just going to work with a row to start.

I’d like to have a nice three column row like this for my resource library. The next thing I’m going to do is I’m going to use a module and we’re actually going to use a photo module.

I’ll just drag and drop the photo in there. I already have some photos added to my library that I’m going to use so I’m just going to go ahead and click on that. These are nice size 370 pixels by 550 pixels high. They’re really nice size that will look really nice. I’m going to save that, and I’m going to go ahead and add a new photo all the way across here.

We’re going to add another one. We will add the next one and we’ll hit save. Then we’re going to add another photo here and we’re going to hit save. You can see how you can keep doing this all the way across and it looks really nice. In our free resource library we’re going to include resources and each one of these photos is going to be representative of a free resource.

For example, I’m going to be able to deliver these resources to my audience when they click on the photo image. To do that I have uploaded to my Google Drive account here there’s a couple different opt-ins that I have saved in my Google Drive. I use Google because it’s free, has lots of storage space and I really like how easy it is. You could also use Dropbox or Adobe Acrobat to deliver your PDFs as well.

What I’ll do here is I need to click on this PDF.

In order to share this, I click over in the right-hand corner these three dots and click on share. I want to share it so that anyone can VIEW, other options are EDIT or COMMENT. I just want them to VIEW it, so I’m going to copy the VIEW link. Now that I have that link copied, I’m going to go back to my library. I’ll click on this photo.

I’m going to scroll down and for the link type I’m going to change that to URL and I’m going to paste in the link to my drive. We’ll have it open in a new window with a nofollow and SAVE. That’s really it. Let’s go to DONE and PUBLISH. Now that we’ve added our secret password, we are on the page, if I’m a visitor I can now click on this photo image and it’s going to pop up my PDF for that image which is really nice and clean.

It opens in a new window so that you can view or print it. Alright guys, that’s it! In today’s video I showed you how easy it is to create a free resource library on your WordPress website so that you can deliver real value to your audience. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave me a comment below. I look forward to talking to you soon.
