Amazon Affiliate 101: Finding and Verifying Your Link

Tiny bit late today, reason being is: i had toget my hair done and i just had a one-on-oneand. Then i popped on with you guys and so Uh what we’re talking about today. Is we have got Umoh amazon prime day coming up and so thesis big affiliate? It’s almost bigger than unaffiliate or a black Friday. Okay, so, when we think of amazon, really your big, huge days, with amazon are going to be those days. That of course everybody’s, naturally already going to amazon something.

That we need to understand about amazon is that they have a 24-hour cookie and. So, if you know what a cookie is, uh then you’re tracking, if you don’t know what a cookie Ishu in this, you know capacity, what cookie means is it’s the tracker, the little pixel um that tracks people uh after they have clicked on your link. So, they click on your link to go to amazon and, then anything that they put in their shopping cart and purchase from amazon. Within that 24 hours now mind you if they’ve cleared their cash or whatever, if they have uh deleted their browsing history, then that would also delete this cookie okay.

So that’s a thing that you, you need to understand, that but most people don’t do that that often um! So, i, as long as they have clicked whether click on your link as long and anything thither have purchased within the next 24 hours, you are going to get a percentage of, and so you’ll see lot of amazon affiliates get all haywire crazy whenever. It comes to black Friday.

You know around the holidays is where they get extra crazy, because the likelihood of somebody clicking on one of their links, because they’re researching toys to buy their kids and things like that. Whenever they’re researching that they’re going to click on. One of those links well shoot anything. They buy within the next 24 hours, which is likely going tobe. Some stuff is going to get attributed back to that person and they’re going to get a cut of that okay, so uh prime day is kind of like Christmas in July. Can we just call it christmas in July that’s? Really? What prime day is now people that get uh?

The benefits from prime day have to Havea prime subscription, so we’re going to be going into how to gracefully be able to cultivate that while we’re talking about other things, right and we’re going to do that here in the next few videos that i do. But today, what I’m really focusing on is the basics. Where do you get your link right? First of all, have you signed up for amazon affiliates that needs to happen?

Okay if, you haven’t done that that’s step one.

You know obviously, obviously south what we’re going to talk about today and I’m going to walk you through is where how to find the link, because it has recently changed how to find your affiliate link for things in amazon and then how to verify that link. Because have done this. I have accidentally used the wrong link and I’ll. Tell you how it could happen I’ve accidentally used the wrong link putt out in something i was like nobody’s buying this like every.

I got 50 likes on this link. I know people are buying it, but it didn’t show that anybody was buying it and that’s because when went to verify the link, it was not associated with my account for some reason. So, whenever we grab our links, we want to make sure that we verify the links before we send them out into the world sound fair. That’s what we’re going to talk about right now, Sarah do they need to have purchased the thing from your link in order to get the Benfeito they just need to have clicked on your link which is why i like to use low-cost items.

Because it gets them over to amazon and then they’ll start shopping around.

It’s like target right target gets you in with the cheap milk, and then you end up with a shovel and a freaking new amazon firestick, and i don’t know a little hot wheels for. Your kid. You end up with all sorts of weird stuff before you leave target it’s the same idea it’s wise, not to share really expensive things unless they’re really discounted in, which case you’ve got. You know price to value differentiator where you’re, just like whoa have, to do this um anyway, that’s goon and be in the upcoming videos. Today we’re just looking at links so.

I do it search, and i google search amazon affiliates and.

The very first thing that pops up is where you log on to amazon affiliates. So that’s what.

Do i go there and i log into my account okays whenever you’re logged into your account what your go on and do is your goon and search for the thing that you’re going to share okay, so um let’s just say well. Yesterday i shared a fasting bookism on day two of fasting.

By the way i am doing 30-day water fast. You may think, I’m crazy, and that’s totally cool, but i have all the energy in the world and i am now uh, like i said: almost40, I’m 40 some hours in and the first three daycare the hardest and I’m like what it is not hard so anyway. Um.

Let me go to the fasting book, so think, it’s fasting guide, let’s just say that in books, okay!

So, what you do a lot of people make. This mistake is right now they would go to because up here is where you get your link so notice. It says amazon associates site stripe. So right here, where I’m you know, circling it get link text. What that would do you guys is it would go to this whole honking page now is that what. You want no. What we want is we want to click on the book itself, which i totally do suggest this book by the way, but you click on the book. Itself and. Then, when you’re only on the product page, you go to get link now do, you want to grab an image, freaking noyau. Don’t do you want the text and image nose?

What we just do you guys is we just use text okay guys just use text? I can go into why later or you could take my hour-long master class which is going to make you a master at these.

What you do is you just log into amazon associates uh somebody asked earlier what’s the difference between amazon affiliates and amazon associates, nothing just the way. Thate talk, that’s really all that it is so what we do. Are we go under tools here on the top guess which one you’re going to click on?

So when you click on this you guys, you literally are just going to copy and paste that link that you already copied once and you’re going to go to check link and this one will show up green, so success the link tags to a valid tag or sub-tag for your associate Id if it doesn’t you’re going to get Ared x here, I’ve seen it before, like, i said, a red here and it’s going to say that it’s not connected in, which case you make sure that you’re in the right browser.

The only way that that can really happen is, if you’re in maybe an incognito browser also, i am notorious for having a million tabs open the only reason you can’t see them right now, is because, I’m literally on my husband’s computer, and he’s, the opposite of me and so um.

I have a bunch of tabs open, so it’s very likely for me to blogged in or logged out on one browser or another and. So, i always go to check my link but also because. I don’t want to be making a post and then have. It really just goes to nothing. That’s not the point, so there you go. That is how you check your link. Let me go back here.
