Are you like most entrepreneurs where you feel like there should be pylons around your desk and there should be a big old caution sign like ah danger here right you’re just running around frantic. I get it so when you make that first hire and you think oh great this is the answer you know whether you’ve already hired someone or you’re going to hire someone you think okay great this will be the help well what I want you to understand is.
I want you to grasp the number one, the number one mistake that everyone makes when they start I want to say building a team but really what they’re not it’s a lateral move they’re not really building a team what happens is you’re taking work off your desk and you’re putting it on theirs okay and that’s how most small medium even large businesses are set up when they’re hiring employees and that’s probably your experience from when you were an employee and what happens is it’s a lateral and a parentified move so the work goes from that’s you as the entrepreneur to them and then you are in a situation where you’re set up to monitor their work like a parent and a child or a teacher any student and what happens is this creates another responsibility for you right so it’s it’s not even a lateral move I mean you’re getting stuff off your desk.
I’m all about that but it does still create a management position for you and you have to keep checking on them and what I believe so passionately on when you have a business that supports your life instead of consuming it is they should be managing you and that can be done it’s so easy and we get into this in other videos with super tool kits and how that manages all right and when you’re doing it this way instead of the parentified way it’s really just turned upside down and what happens is not only does that give you the freedom in your business to constantly be going to as I call the W.I.N.
