3 Ways to Build Authority in Your Niche and Increase Sales for Your Business

Welcome to the build it media show where we help local small businesses implement marketing strategies help you build authority and take your business to the next level I'm brain freeman and welcome to the show hey good morning today we're going to talk about three ways that you can increase your authority for you or your company and we're going to cover how that's going to help you get more leads on your website convert more leads to sales and ultimately grow your business so the first thing is and this is really the easiest way is that you've been business for a long time you're in a certain niche you're an expert so you're a custom home builder like we are and you go hey I'm good at what i do and i can teach a lot about what i do and be in really build quality content that's going to put you at the top as far as letting people know that you know what.

You're talking about and then you create that on a weekly basis and you push that out via your blog your social media any word that you're you feel that you need to get it to out to your audience and that helps to build authority i mean this is really the easiest way to do it you're an expert already so you can talk from a position of authority and people recognize that and want to do business with you so this is really the easiest way to do it i mean you already know it it's an industry you know and you're able to take it and run very quickly but the most consistent or thing that's most important is to be consistent so you're putting that content out on a very regular basis so it it over time you start accumulating all of this this content these video content these podcasts these interviews you do with people on your website so when people are searching for you they hit your site and you look like you know.

What you're doing so that's uh really the easiest route to do that now this is this works i should back up this works for doesn't matter how your traffic is coming in if you're running paid ads to drive traffic to your website or you're driving uh or you're actually getting that traffic from organic uh because you've been doing content marketing or you've been doing other things for your website sort of blog posts whatnot that's going to push traffic back to you organically through like seo or maybe some relationships you develop with other people uh just by getting all this content in a hub on your website um showing that.

You're the expert you're gonna generate a lot more conversions and it's going to be way easier to sell so this works for both types of traffic organic or paid traffic so you're really just positioning yourself to to make sales easier and convert leads so all right so the second thing you can do and this is really really helpful is if you are are not an expert in your industry and this is a business that you're wanting to start to business that you're wanting to continue to scale and you want to build authority in this space well you need to start documenting your journey so i mean you if you learn something today put a video out today or put a video out tomorrow or put a podcast out tomorrow uh to create a blog post tomorrow documenting and teaching what you're learning and the struggles you're going through in your business.

And what you're actually uh you know overcoming and as you do this people will start to recognize that hey this guy you know he knows what he's talking about he's learning he's a step ahead of me you really just got to be a step ahead of them and as you continue to build this out you start to look like the authority in these people's eyes the people that are wanting to follow you and you really don't have to be that far ahead of them you just got to be one step ahead of them in what you're doing so don't think you have to have 10 you know 5 years 10 years 20 years in order to start leading people and helping people you just have to be a little bit ahead of them so start documenting your journey create content and then push that out and you know in a year if you're doing it once a week you're going to have 52 pieces of content.

That you have built this vault of authority that now you can drive paid traffic to it you can drive or you get you'll get organic traffic coming you know traffic coming to it um and even shaking hands at a networking event you send them to your website and they look at you and they go man this this person has uh there you know a lot of authority they're actually uh know what they're doing they're top of their game in their niche that the you know their business that they're in so that's an excellent way to do it the other way to do it is uh and this is if you're new to the space and this can also work if you're an expert too because it just has even more of a powerful effect but surround yourself with people that are experts in your industry as well so let's say you're a home builder and you're working with you can start interviewing architects real estate agents maybe lenders other people that are actually complement your business.

And surround yourself with it with top-level people and interview them and by them sharing their knowledge with uh your audience and maybe there is no audience but the recordings that you're able to get and as you push them out you associating with these people will allow other people to to raise you up in their eyes as knowing uh you know as being a trusted expert in that industry and that you associate those people you'll be you'll rise to the top with them as far as um you know the authority that they already have so you're essentially flow you know floating with them and you're going to raise your business um in the in you know in the process.

And you learn a ton by doing that because you're associating with these people that have that have already got a lot of this figured out and that are top of their game in your industry so so really three ways you can do it you know be an expert document your journey associate with other people in your niche that they're in that are uh complement your business that uh and this can and you can do that if you're an expert or if you're just documenting your journey just an excellent way to build your authority and then figure out your strategy you know am i going to drive traffic to this um through paid ads or if I'm going to go you know organic am i going to go shake hands get a networking event so i can drive people back to my site and uh ultimately you're going to get more sales from it and you'll be able to grow your business so all right so if you uh would like more information about how we can help you with your business we've got a ton information on our resources page.
